About

About:
With a background in architecture, Amanda Li Hope aims to create jewellery with a minimal, sleek, and geometric aesthetic. She is also proud to be one of world’s first licensed jewellers to make and sell certified Fairtrade and Fairmined gold. This design ethos combined with using fully traceable and accountable metal allows her to create pieces that are simple and clean in their design, as well in their material provenance.

Having studied and practised architecture in New York and London, Amanda has as strong background in contemporary design and detail. As a jeweller, she transforms this strength and fascination into ‘micro’ scale of wearable art. Her first ‘XX collection’ was inspired by a desire to create a simple, solitaire stone setting - a design that celebrates the stone as much as the setting itself.

Amanda's Asteroid collection debut in 2012, her first where all gold used will be Fairtrade and Fairmined. The collection's inspiration stems from the recent discovery that Earths gold came from a meteor shower that struck the planet 3.9 billion years ago. The designs are a contemporary interpretation of these extra-terrestrial rocky bodies and their travelling patterns, and made into faceted gold nuggets in all the colors – yellow, rose, white, and green - 9k and 18k Fairtrade and Fairmined gold.

Amanda has been a jeweller since 2009 and works out of her studio in Craft Central, Clerkenwell, London. She received her Graduate Diamonds Diploma from the Gemological Institute of America earlier this year (2012). In addition to developing her current collections, she looks forward to developing a wedding collection out of Fairtrade and Fairmined gold and working with ethically sourced, Jeweltree certified diamonds, and other ethically sourced gemstones as well.
