2024 Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Awards Exhibition

Amanda’s Chromaticity necklace, which has won Silver and Bronze awards in this year’s prestigious Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Awards, is on display this year alongside the other winning pieces in three exhibitions.

Christmas showcase at Forge, December 2023

Jewellery exhibition of invited UK jewellers during the festive holiday period.

 

KT x ALH in New York, Sep – Oct 2023

As part of artist’s, Katherine ‘KT’ Taylor, solo exhibition at the Skoto Gallery, Amanda and KT showcased their collaborative Birch Bark Cuff bracelets in sterling silver. For more of KT’s exciting work, please visit www.ktcreature.com.

Jewellery showcase at Forge, May 2023

Design-led jewellery exhibition during London Craft and Clerkenwell Design Weeks at Forge in Hatton Garden. During London Craft Week, Amanda was a panelist in an evening discussion chaired by Corrine Julius: “Hatton Garden: Why is this community important to the maker?” and later held a live demonstration covering ‘Communication Tools for Design’ during Clerkenwell Design Week.

 

The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Awards, February 2020

That year Amanda won the Bronze Award for Fairtrade Gold Jewellery for her Auroboros necklace, which was on display with the other winners that year at the Goldsmiths’ Hall.

 

Fringe exhibitor, Clerkenwell Design Week, May 2019

During the CDW festival, Amanda and Isabelle Capitain opened up their shared workshop for an open studio event and held live demonstrations of alloying gold and microsetting of gemstones. Bonus surprise was Amanda interviewed by Hendrik Welling for “Euromaxx: Lifestyle Europe”. You can see Amanda at timestamp “2:59” on this video clip on DW’s website.

 

Milliken x Makers House: Colour Stories , July 2019

Curated by Georgia Bosson (formerly of Makers House), this exhibition took place at Milliken‘s showroom HQ in Clerkenwell.  Amanda also took part in the panel discussion, ‘The Process Behind the Product’, which was also the theme of the exhibition.

 

Jewels of Queensland, Aug 2018

Showcase of handmade designer jewellery at the Australian High Commission featuring responsibly mined gemstones from Queensland, Australia sourced by Capricorn Gems.

 

Fair Luxury Presents, Sept 2017

A curated exhibition of fine jewellery organised by Fair Luxury held at the Goldsmiths Centre, London. This first of-its-kind exhibition aimed to redefine luxury to include responsible provenance of materials in the evolving and contemporary marketplace of fine jewellery. In addition to exhibiting her work, Amanda was asked share her experience on during an evening panel discussion: Fair Luxury Presents : Responsible Provenance, the Third Dimension of Luxury.

Past Wedding Shows, Open Studios& Pop Up Events

A Most Curious Wedding Fair, London & Norfolk, 2015 – 2022.

One of Amanda’s favourite wedding shows, Most Curious is the wedding show for the style savvy couple. Amanda one of the fair’s first jewellers offering bespoke services in ethical fine jewellery. She has exhibited with them in London at the Truman Brewery for eight consecutive years as well as once in Norfolk at The Firepit Camp in 2021. They are taking a break in 2023 but she hopes they will return in 2024!

 

Chosen Wedding Fair

Held at the Islington Assembly Hall, Amanda was a regular vendor at Chosen Wedding, whose stylish and eclectic wedding shows . Featuring independent and small businesses based in the UK, Amanda regularly took part in the fairs from 2016 – 2020.

 

Made in Clerkenwell: Craft Central

This open studio event was a firm favourite with design and craft enthusiasts alike. Twice a year Craft Central, 70-odd studios and 120 businesses, would throw open it’s doors to showcase some of the amazing design and craft talent inside. Amanda has her first studio here and 2009 was her first show. In 2018, Craft Central moved to its new home in the Isle of Dogs, the same year Amanda moved to her current workshop in Hatton Garden.

 

Pop ups with Creative Clerkenwell

Amanda also took part in many pop-up events organized by Charlene Lam if Creative Clerkenwell from 2010 – 2018, which featured design-led makers in ceramics, textiles, graphic design, and jewellery. It was a wonderful era when Clerkenwell was still buzzing with artisan workshops and up-and-coming design studios. Highlights with Creative Clerkenwell, included the month-long Christmas Markets at the former Vitra showroom and pop-ups during Clerkenwell Design Week.
