This ‘Rough & Toothy’ Birch Bark silver cuff bracelet is a collaboration between Amanda and American sculptor, KTcreature.
This ‘Smooth & Groovy’ texture highlights the more mature slitted pattern found on silver birch trees in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. A scattering of grey diamonds are embedded throughout the piece resembling large raindrops captured within the bark. Two other bracelet designs were created from patterns taken from the same tree, ‘Smooth & Groovy’ and ‘Smooth & Toothy’.
KT’s creates large-scale sculptures drawing on the natural world, its animals, landscapes and textures. She invited Amanda to collaborate with her to translate her work into a smaller scale, wearable pieces of her fine art as fine jewellery. The outcome are these bracelet designs, created in either recycled or certified Fairmined sterling silver using unique impressions of textures KT has taken from the bark of a single silver birch tree in the Adirondack Mountains.
